Money making in Old School RuneScape is a key part of gameplay because gold is a useful resource for almost everything in the game, from leveling skills to buying items and more. Old players know just how important gold is in the game, and new players should adjust to this reality since it’s essential for growing in OSRS. Money making is an activity widespread in the community and practiced by almost all players, focusing on creating the most profitable quests or tasks in terms of gold per hour.

One of the most popular methods to earn gold is Slayer Money Making in OSRS. This skill is increasing in popularity among players because it allows users to unlock monsters that will level up alongside the skill, giving even more profits to the players and more monsters to hunt at the end of the day.

Slayer Money Making OSRS: Recommendations

Before trying to use Slayer for Money Making in OSRS, you must know Slayer is only available for those with Membership. Moreover, this skill is tied to Combat since players can train Combat while completing Slayer tasks. Slayer and Combat skill duo is important since a Slayer master will assign the task based on the player's Combat level.

It’s crucial to train Slayer to be able to access high-profit monsters. Having a good Slayer level will lead to more gold per hour. In any case, if you are just beginning a journey to find the Best Money Making Slayer Task in OSRS, you can train this skill while making some gold and hunting some mid-level creatures. While leveling Slayer, you will get new monsters to hunt, unique drops, and most tasks to do, so focus on the big prize and all the new monsters you could defeat using Slayer skill.

Considering Slayer skill with big profits, there are some weapons and items that can be useful during the task you’ll be assigned:

  • Expeditious Bracelet: A must-have item for Slayer tasks, granting a speed-up the task you don’t like, and giving you a 25% chance to kill a monster and counts as two. This item only has 30 charges, so be wise when you use it.
  • Imbued Slayer Helmet: This helmet will increase your accuracy during the Slayer task by 16.67% for melee and 15% for ranged and magic, making a must-have item, you should bring to your money making adventures.
  • Bracelet of Slaughter: This item works great on cannonable tasks, granting a 25% chance of making a kill does not count towards the task, but it will give you the Slayer XP per hour. This bracelet has only 30 charges, and one is consumed every time you activate it.
  • Dwarf Multicannon: If you want to speed up Slayer task, this is your item. This cannon will deal additional damage, and will increase the XP and rewards per hour while using it. Bring with you plenty of cannonballs, and refill when it's running low of ammo.
  • Soul Bearer: A great item that will let you send ensouled heads directly to your bank, giving you a relief in your inventory. Some heads you can send are from demons, trolls, elves, giants, and dagannoths. You will need to recharge this item with one soul and one blood rune every time you want to send an ensouled head to the bank.

Slayer Money Making OSRS: Best Monsters Task

There are many monsters in Old School RuneScape, and some require you to have certain abilities to face them; however, that doesn’t mean some don’t have low-level requirements with a good profit margin when using Slayer as Money Making in OSRS. Here’s a list of the best monsters to fight with Slayer skill:

Blue Dragons

First on the list is a monster with no Slayer level requirement. As we mentioned before, leveling up Slayer and Combat is essential for increasing how much gold per hour is gained from each task. The profit range starts at 200k gold per hour and can increase to 500k gold per hour. Blue Dragons are a great starting point when using Slayer as Money Making in OSRS; you can find them in Taverly, Ogre Enclave, and the Heroes’ Guild. Some of the most valuable drops you can expect from these creatures are Visages, Dragon Bones, Blue Dragonhide, and Ensouled Dragon Head.

Dust Devils

These creatures are among the most lucrative for OSRS Money Making with Slayer, and players can easily AFK them using the right weapons. They are located in different dungeons, like Smoke Dungeons, Catacombs of Kourend, and the Wilderness Slayer Cave. Players are required to have a level 65 in Slayer to be able to fight against Dust Devils. We recommend using a facemask or a Slayer helmet if players want to fight these monsters, and some high-level Magic gear to multicombat and defeat various at once. When you complete a round of Slaying Dust Devils, some of the most valuable drops you can get are Air and Earth Battlestaffs, Mystic Air and Battlestaffs, and Dragon Daggers.

Kurasks

Kurasks are monsters that require players to have level 70 Slayer to unlock them. These monsters are immune to poison, venom, and even damage from dwarf multicannon and thralls. It may look difficult to fight, but their attacks aren’t precise; still, beware if any attacks hit you. Kurask has a decent profit per hour, around 400k to 500k gold per hour. You can find these creatures in Fremmy Slayer Cave, and some of the most valuable items dropped from them are leaf-bladed items, Mystic robe Top, high-level seeds, and herbs like Limpwurt and Whiteberries. Here are some recommendations for the gear you should use:

  • Leaf-bladed weapons
  • Broad bolts
  • Broad arrows
  • Amethyst broad bolts
  • Magic Dart

Skeletal Wyverns

Next on our list is a dragon-like creature made of only bones. Players must have Slayer at level 72 to unlock the ability to fight them. Wyverns are one of the best monsters for Slayer Money Making in OSRS. Players can find these creatures at the end of Asgarnian Ice Dungeon. Each Slayer task comes with 10 Skeletal Wyverns; fighting Wyverns is profitable because it can give a profit of up to 700k gold per hour, but with a Draconic visage drop, it could come close to 3 million gold, though this is rather rare as the drop rate is 1 in 10,000. Here are our recommendations for the gear you should use to fight these creatures:

  • Elemental shield
  • Mind shield
  • Dragonfire shield
  • Dragonfire ward
  • Ancient wyvern shield

Gargoyles

Flying creatures are popular in Slayer tasks for their high profitable rates. Gargoyles are great in OSRS Money Making Slayer since killing even only one offers around 10k gold. To unlock this task to fight with them, players need a Slayer level of 75. Completing a full Gargoyle task entails around 150 creatures that you must defeat, allowing for a total profit of between 600k to 800k gold per hour, occasionally hitting a peak at 1 million gold per hour. Here are some of the most valuable drops from Gargoyles:

  • Mystic Robe Top
  • Granite Maul
  • Rune Full helmet
  • Rune 2h Sword
  • Noted Ores and bars

Brutal Black Dragons

Dragons are popular for Slayer Money Making in OSRS, and for this one, players will be required to have a Slayer skill level of 77 to unlock these creatures with Slayer Master. Players must head to the Catacombs of Kourend if they want to take on these Brutal Black Dragons. If you choose to take on this task, you have a choice of killing Baby Black Dragons, Regular Black Dragons, King Black Dragons, or Brutal Black Dragons. When you embark on this adventure, we recommend good-level weapons like Blowpipe with Dragon Darts or a Twisted Bow. You can expect to make a profit of around 400k to 600k gold per hour. Here are some of the valuable drops from these dragons:

  • Dragon bones
  • Black dragonhide
  • Dragon platelegs
  • Dragon plateskirt
  • Dragon Dagger

osrs brutal black dragon

Nechryaels

Players can find these demonic creatures in the Slayer Tower or the Catacombs of Kourend. However, they won’t be high on your priority list in the beginning, as they require Slayer level of 80 to unlock them. These monsters are well-known to players for their drops, like rune boots and the ability to find some Great Nechryael. With a good strategy using Ice Burst or Ice Barrage, players can defeat them with little to no problems and receive a profit of up to 1 million gold per hour doing a full task, killing them Melee for faster advance.

Abyssal Sire

Abyssal Sire is the boss of other similar monsters, such as Abyssal Demons. While Abyssal Demons aren’t the best creatures for Slayer Money Making in OSRS because it is difficult to get valuable drops, Abyssal Sire is another story. The Abyssal Sire is a great money maker, but it has a catch since players need to be extremely efficient with this task to obtain a profit. If you choose to take on this task, you’ll need a Slayer level of 85, and locating them shouldn’t be too much of a problem as they are located in the Abyssal Realm.

Ideally, players have to kill about 20 Sire per hour; bringing a profit of about 800k to 900k gold per hour. In addition to these numbers, players can get a top drop, Unsireds, which can increase the possibility of obtaining any piece of Abyssal Bludgeon to 48%; if you are fortunate enough to complete the Bludgeon you could find yourself with a profit of 10.9 million gold. Sadly, you can’t sell Abyssal Bludgeon pieces alone. You have the possibility to get a valuable drop like the Abyssal Dagger, which has a market value of 6.5 million gold.

Dark Beast

This beast has high requirements for Combat and Slayer skill levels; in both skills, players need to have at least a level of 90. These creatures are in Mourner Tunnel and Iorwerth Dungeon in Prifddinas. These monsters, and their behemoth look, can attack using Magic and Melee; fortunately, fighting against them is easy since they are vulnerable to Stab and Slash attacks. Dark Beasts have great objectives for their drops, like Dark Bow and Death Rune, which can increase profit margins to up to 800k gold per hour, but only with the Dark Bow drop.

Thermonuclear Smoke Devil

Considered to be one of the most profitable bosses to defeat while using Slayer for Money Making in OSRS. While killing a normal Smoke Devil isn’t very profitable, fighting this Thermonuclear Smoke Devil boss is one of the best things to do as a high-level Slayer; you will need a Slayer level of 93 to face this monster. Smoke Battlestaff, Dragon Scimitar, and Ancient Staff are the most valuable drops, making this a worthwhile endeavour, and that’s before you consider the profit. The profit itself is quite handsome too, with between 1 and 1.5 million gold per hour being earned since most drops have a value of 48k gold each.

Hydra

Greek Mythology is alive in Old School RuneScape, with a draconic Slayer snake-like monster with more than one head being available to battle. Players can find these creatures beyond Slayer level 95 in the lower level of the Karuulm Slayer Dungeon in Mount Karuulm. This task can only be assigned by Konar, and you can expect a profit of around 800k to 900k gold per hour. The most valuable drops are the Rune platebody, Mystic robe bottom, Hydra bones, and Hydra’s eyes.

Wyrm

A worm-like creature that is arguably closer to dragons, easy to find in the lower level of Karuulm Slayer Dungeon; however, these creatures are quite dangerous, and the fact players will fight them close to a volcano only amplifies the stress during battle. We recommend wearing heat-resistant gear, boots of stone, boots of brimstone, or granite boots for the best chance to defeat them. It can be dangerous, but drops are worth the risk; one of them is the Dragon Harpoon, a skyrocketing profit of 1.1 million gold for just that item. Wyrm are a great option since they have other drops such as Dragon Sword with a tradable price of 68,769 gold or Dragon Knife with a price up to 840k gold.

Thieving Money Making Guide RS3

With everything prepared, it's time to see what is in some pockets, and start selling to up your gold intake. There are an abundance of other methods outside of our blog, however, we're covering the NPCs with the best or most loot. So, let's take a look at the best RS3 Thieving money making methods!

Pickpocketing

One of the more common practices in the Thieving skills is pickpocketing. You can use it with a simple man or even Elves, which means you can pickpocket almost every NPC in the game. It's worth noting that you won't be able to pickpocket other players, but the varying NPC options offered certainly make up for this. Using pickpocketing as an RS3 Thieving money making method can be dangerous at a low level due to the possible stuns and damage inflicted. So it's highly recommended to get your Thieving level up first; 62 is a decent place to aim for. As you'll still have some vulnerability, but much more capability. Though it is entirely possible to start doing so from a much lower level.:

H.A.M Member

A perfect option to start your adventures as a thief since you only require Thieving level 15 for the female follower and level 20 for the male follower. You can find H.A.M. members at H.A.M. headquarters, and they offer a wide variety of items when you're pickpocketing them. Here’s the list:

To get things going with this method, you'll need to invest around 2.8 million coins. Typically, you'll need the 101 Pure Essence on hand. However, we would recommend using the Astral Runes stores in and Rune Pouch, and having your Abyssal Titan Pouch filled with at least 20 Pure Essence. You can store the rest of the Pure Essence among the other Pouches and the full Infinity Ethereal Outfit. For this method, you will start at your most convenient bank. We recommend using the War’s Retreat or TzHaar Fight Cave Bank via the TokKul-Zo.

Arrange your inventory, activate the Skills Necklace and select the third option to teleport you to the Crafting Guild. Now, you must travel north and access the Hot Air Balloon to Varrock. Once there, you must go southeast and enter the Altar Entrance; before crafting, equip the Binding Necklace and cast the Magic Imbue spell. Here, you will use your Air Rune on the Earth Altar to craft the Dust Runes. Then, you simply need to teleport back and repeat the process.

For this Runecrafting money-making in RS3 method, you can expect to earn around 28 million coins per hour if you complete all the trips, making ten times your investment. Certainly a worthwhile endeavor if you're able to afford the initial investment.

Nature Runes Through The Abyss

For this RS3 Runecrafting money making method, you will craft Runes through the Abyss, as you can use the altars for Runecrafting without the need for a Talisman. The Abyss works as glue to connect all planes; this dimension will be your favorite place for all the help you will get during your Runecrafting money making endeavors. Here’s what you need to start with this method:

  • 79 Runecrafting (91 recommended)
  • 93 Summoning
  • 68 Archaeology
  • Infinity Ethereal Outfit
  • Demonic Skull
  • Wilderness Sword 3
  • All Runecrafting Pouches
  • Runecrafting Potion
  • Powerburst of Sorcery
  • Completion of the Here’s Welcome quest and Hard Wilderness Achievements.

Recommended:

  • Nexus Mod
  • Pouch Protector
  • Dive
  • Double Surge Codex
  • Ring of Imbuing

Again, this is a method that has a rather large price tag, but it's well worth it if you can afford it. This method will require you to put up around 7 million coins in order to get the necessary Pure Essence, Powerburst of Sorcery and the Catalytic Anima Stone. It’s a simple method where you can expect to make about 60 trips per hour to the Abyss. On average, you can expect this Runecrafting money making in RS3 method to bring you about 31 million coins per hour, counting the possible Magical Threads you will receive during your endeavors.

You can earn about 22 million coins per hour, counting the Magical Threads you will also create.

Water Runes Through The Abyss

Another Runecrafting money making RS3 method that will see you using the Abyss is making Water Runes. As with the other methods, you must travel to this dimension, where you will find different altars for Runecrafting. To make Water Runes, you will need the following:

This method will follow a similar path of events to the others created in this dimension, with you entering the dimension and using Pure Essence as you craft at the Blood Altar. Here’s all you could need to use this Runecrafting money making RS3 method:

  • 77 Runecrafting (99 recommended)
  • 93 Summoning
  • 80 Dungeoneering
  • 68 Archaeology
  • 91 Herblore
  • All Runecrafting Pouches
  • Wilderness Sword 3
  • Morytania Legs 2
  • Demonic Skull
  • Infinity Ethereal Outfit
  • Runecrafting Potions
  • Powerburst of Sorcery
  • Ring of Imbuing
  • Completion of Legacy of Seergaze and Hero’s Welcome quests, Medium Morytania and Hard Wilderness Achievements.

Recommended:

  • Nexus Mod (activated on Monolith)
  • Pouch Protector (activated on Monolith)
  • Dive or Bladed Dive
  • Double Surge Codex

Unlike its predecessors, this method requires a lot more concentration and is highly intense; so make sure you remain alert on your trips to the Blood Altar and banking your coins. You'll be using the 5 pouches, so ensure you repair them regularly. An average hour practicing this method will see you completing roughly 72 trips, and you'll earn around 24.6 million, including Magical Thread.

What are the most common items to use during Runecrafting money making in RS3 methods?

During your endeavors, you will see a wide variety of items like the Wilderness Sword or the gloves for specific Runes; however, you will require all five Runecrafting Pouches to carry the Pure Essence when you go to the altar and then Runes when you return to the bank.

The Infinity Ethereal Outfit is a must because it gives a 7% chance of doubling your Runes, allows you to carry 12 extra Runes or Essences with you, and has a 50% chance of not degrading your Pouches, making it unbeatable.

Should I use the Runecrafting Cape after reaching level 99 of Runecrafting?

It’s a great item you can show to make your friends jealous, but it is not as helpful as other items for Runecrafting money making in RS3. We recommend using other clothing pieces, like the Infinity Ethereal Outfit, if you want to maximize your earnings.

So, welcome back to another blog in our series of money making guides; today let us introduce you to RS3 Mining money making. Let’s begin!

RS3 Money Making Mining Requirements

Despite RS3 money making Mining not being a quest, and not having any requirements in the same sense, there are still a few things you will need to get your journey underway. So, below we have listed the gear, items and other essentials for RS3 Mining money making:

  • Pickaxe: the primary tool you will use to mine in every location of Gielinor. There is a wide variety of pickaxes; depending on each, you can get an extra boost during mining. It’s a tool you can have in the backpack, tool belt, or wielding.
  • Magic Golem Outfit: This is more than an elite outfit. It grants some interesting effects, like the chance of getting double the ore you are mining when you combine it with the Varrock Armor. Some other benefits are the extra 5% chance of a critical hit and the +1 Rockerturnity multiplier.
  • Grace of the Elves: A necklace created to provide benefits for gathering skills like Mining. The most relevant part is the Seren Spirits; you can interact with them to get a chance to deposit a random rare drop directly into your bank.
  • Varrock Armor 4: An armor that you will combine with the Magic Golem Outfit to gain the bonus, like a 1% chance of mining two Banite, Light Animica, or Dark Animica.
  • Quarrymaster Aura: This aura will increase your hit chances by 2% while Mining. It affects most rocks, but some, like Red Sandstones, Living Rocks Remains, Lunar Rocks and Elemental Rock won’t receive the aura effect.
  • Ore Box: The item to store more items, but not every item: ores and Stone Spirits. Depending on the material, you can store up to 140 items. You will unlock it after completing the Everything Is Oresome achievement. You can upgrade the Ore Box with materials like Iron, Steel, Gold, and Silver.
  • Mining Cape: The Cape of Accomplishment of Mining skill after you reach level 99 Mining. It’s not a gift, but you must purchase it for 99.000 coins. The perk for using this Cape is a 5% chance of double the ore chance on all core rocks. This will help you during your journey through RS3 Mining money making methods.

To begin with, you must go to a cave, like Arctic (Azure) Habitat Mine, Glacor Cavern Mine, Jatizo Dungeon Elite, Tarshak’s Sanctum (Abomination mine) or the Wilderness (Level 54) Pirates’ Hideout Mine. Most of those locations are available for Member-only, so keep this in mind before you begin your adventure. For this RS3 Mining money making method, it’s possible to mine around 520 Banite Ore per hour, and the expected profit is about 2.3 million gold per hour.

Concentrated Coal Rocks

Coal is a popular ore for different scenarios and utilities. Mining Concentrated Coal Deposits in the Living Rock Caverns means you will obtain five pieces of coal rather than one. Of course, Concentrated Coal Rocks are not the same as the usual Coal Rocks, which is why they are a great way to make a profit. Here’s what you need to mine those Concentrated Coal Rocks:

  • 70 Mining
  • 83 Summoning
  • Necromium Pickaxe +4 or better
  • Golden Mining Suit or Magic Golem Outfit
  • Steel Ore Box
  • Coal Stone Spirits
  • Lava Titan Pouch
  • Legendary Quarrymaster Aura
  • Ring of Wealth or better

The high level of Summoning required is for the Lava Titan Pouch, which will grant you 10 extra Mining damage that helps with speed during Coal Mining. Coal Stone Spirits will double the Coal mined during your time doing RS3 Mining money making. On average, you can expect to mine about 6,900 Coal per hour using this method, with an estimated profit of 2.9 million gold per hour.

Dark Aminica

An ore you can mine for a long time while being AFK, giving an added benefit against some Mining money making RS3 methods, for those players who aren’t interested in tedious and repetitive tasks. You can do it for an extended period without problems, and you can expect more than just Dark Aminica ore since you will obtain some Metamorphic Geode, providing an extra profit. Here’s what you need to start mining Dark Amenica ore:

  • 90 Mining (Level 99 recommended)
  • 83 Summoning
  • 99 Strength (recommended for better rates)
  • Pickaxe of Earth and Song with Honed 6 and Refined 4
  • Magic Golem Outfit
  • Quarrymaster Aura
  • Grace of the Elves
  • Mining Cape
  • Varrock Armor 4
  • Enriched Pontifex Shadow Ring
  • Brooch of the Gods
  • Tagga’s Corehammer
  • Elder Rune Ore Box
  • Lava Titan Pouch
  • Perfect Juju Mining Potion
  • Dark Animica Stone Spirit
  • Sign of the Porter VII

We recommend you check the prices of this ore since they constantly fluctuate; it’s key to check if it is worth the effort and the heavy investment in the materials. The mining process is simple, and the expected rates are based on the level of your gear. On average, you can expect to mine 350 Dark Animica ore, with around 30 Igneous Geodes, about 1.2 Metamorphic Geodes, and 250 Deathspore Arrow Tips per hour. Your earnings will be around 2.2 million per hour, with a decent XP gaining to reach the maximum Mining level faster.

With the Bracelet of Clay, you can double the amount of Soft Clay you get, and with the Grace of the Elves, you will see how Seren Spirits spawn and will increase your profit per hour. It’s possible to mine about 70,000 Soft Clay per hour, giving you an estimated earning of 5.7 million on average for this RS3 Mining money making method.

OSRS Mining Money Making: Inside the Mines OSRS Mining Money Making: Inside the Mines OSRS

A considerable portion of OSRS is finding and obtaining ores and gems that can be used to create different items, especially jewelry. Mining is one of the skills that will help you get these various ore and precious gemstones from rocks. This skill is dependable on the level, so you must go through a leveling phase to use it at its full potential. This is one of the most popular skills you can use to get a profit, and we can show you some money making methods to gain some coins when down in the mines.

Money Making Mining OSRS: Recommended Items

Mining has several items and outfits you can use to gain some advantage during your trips to the mine, and by combining them, you will have a powerful combo that will let you mine better, faster, and more efficiently. Let’s check some items for your labor:

  • Pickaxe: This will be your best friend while doing any Mining money making in OSRS since it’s the essential tool for mining any type of ores or mineable items. There are various pickaxes, but the most desirable ones are the Dragon Pickaxe and the Crystal Pickaxe.
  • Prospector Kit: This kit gives you a 2.5% experience boost for Mining XP, making it a great choice if you don’t own Varrock Armour. You can purchase the Prospector Kit at Prospector Percy’s Nugget Shop using golden nuggets that you can obtain randomly through mining pay-dirt.
  • Varrock Armour: You will get this set by completing the Varrock Diary. Toby will give it to you in Varrock. If you lose it, you can also get another from him. The Varrock Armour provides a 10% chance to obtain two specific ores while mining simultaneously, granting XP for both.
  • Mining Cape: A cape you can purchase for 99,000 coins at the Magic Guild entrance; to do so, you must be at level 99 Mining. Using the Mining Cape, you can expect a 5% chance of obtaining an extra ore while mining ores up to Adamantite and giving you the XP for both ores after mining them. You can also stack the effect of this cape with other mining enhancers.
  • Mining Gloves: This item will have other variations, like Superior Mining Gloves or Expert Mining Gloves. You can buy the Mining Glove from Belona’s Shop at the Mining Guild Mineral Exchange for 60 unidentified minerals. If you give her 60 extra unidentified and the Superior Mining Gloves you can get the Expert Mining Gloves. The primary purpose of these gloves is to prevent the rock from being depleted when mining, but the chances of non-depletion will depend on the rock; the rates go from 33.33% up to 50%.
  • Elven Signet: If you are using a Crystal Pickaxe, this will be a great addition to OSRS Mining money making methods since it offers a 10% chance to prevent your pickaxe from consuming a charge when you mine an ore. This will extend the life of your pickaxe, and you can get it from Crystal Implings.
  • Coal Bag: A simple bag that will let you store up to 27 Coal, making it a must-have if you decide to mine coal. With this bag, you will have more efficiency and order in your inventory.
  • Gem Bag: If you advocate directly for gem mining, you will need a bag like this. The Gem Bag will let you carry up to 60 uncut gems of each, from Sapphires to Dragonstone. It will help you carry more gems and improve your mining efficiency.

OSRS Mining Money Making Guide

If you are wondering which mining money-making methods are the best, you are in the right place. There are some OSRS Mining money making F2P methods and some for Members. Don’t worry if you are a free-to-play player; you can still profit from Mining either way.

Gemstones

This is an excellent option if you want to start with OSRS Mining money making since you only require a level 40; however, we recommend having a level 41 or above. For this method, you won’t need to have any fancy stuff, but these:

  • Rune, Dragon or Crystal Pickaxe
  • Amulet Of Glory
  • Gem Bag
  • Celestial Ring
  • Karamja Gloves 3 or 4
  • Completion of the Shilo Village quest and the Hard or Elite Karamja tasks.
  • You will also need some knowledge of Tick Manipulation items.

For this method, you can expect an average of 400 to 950 gems mined per hour, giving you a profit from 335K up to 797K coins per hour by mining, depending on how many gems you obtain. The perfect location for mining gems is the Shilo Village Mine, and with those items, it can be a profitable method.

Runite Ore

A money making Mining OSRS P2P method that F2P players can apply too. Whether you are a Member or not, you will need at least level 85 in Mining or more and a Rune Pickaxe as your main tool. Be careful since for F2P players, we recommend some extra skills like:

  • 40 Attack
  • 40+ Defense
  • 35 Magic
  • Rune Armor
  • Runes for teleportation spells.

This is a risky method, so it must be done well. Since Runite rocks are tagged as highly desirable and players compete for the ore, you must constantly switch worlds for a better chance of obtaining the ore. For the OSRS Mining money making F2P method, there is only one place to mine: the Lava Maze Runite Mine, where you can find two rocks. This location is northwest of Lava Maza in level 46 Wilderness, meaning you should only take what you are prepared to lose. Depending on your luck, you can expect a profit of around 336K, but this can go as high as 673 K coins per hour.

If you are a Member, you can unlock more spots by completing quests like Song of the Elves. Depending on your level, you can have a profit of around 1.2M coins per hour if you are level 99 of mining. In any case, the less you can expect at level 40 Mining is 561K coins per hour by mining 50 Runite ore. The average earning for this method is 739K coins per hour with around 65 ores.

Amethyst

Another great OSRS Mining money making method is mining amethyst. As with most methods, you won’t need several items to use it; the first thing you need is level 92+ in Mining and a Rune, Dragon or Crystal pickaxe. Amethyst is the highest level ore you can mine and has many uses, like crafting high-level ranging ammunition (Amethyst arrows, Amethyst darts). You can expect to mine 80 to 100 amethysts per hour, reflecting a profit of 406K to 507K coins per hour, depending on how many ores you get. By mining Amethyst, you will also obtain Unidentified Minerals, which you can use to buy Mining Gloves.

Killing Zalcano

How can killing a boss be part of a Mining money making OSRS guide? To kill Zalcano, you will need a level of 70+ in mining and completing the Song of the Elves quests series. There are some extra requirements, and here’s the list of everything you will need:

  • Varrock Armour 1 or higher
  • Dragon Pickaxe or Crystal Pickaxe
  • Celestial signet or Celestial Ring (Only if using a Crystal Pickaxe)
  • 1 Regen Bracelet.

You will find Zalcano's boss in Prifddinas, and you can use this method with a group of four players since it’s a three-stage combat that will count as a kill contribution, and the rewards will be shared evenly. If you are the MVP in your group, you can expect an increase in your earnings. You can expect around 1,47M coins per hour by killing 13 Zalcano bosses in the same period.

Basalt

Once you complete the Making Friends With My Arm quest, you can obtain Basalt by mining in the Salt Mine of Weiss. The requirement for this OSRS Mining money making method is that you must have a level of 72+ in Mining and Rune, Dragon or Crystal Pickaxe. The Basalt is used to create Ice Basalt and Stony Basalt, which are useful for teleporting to Weiss and the Troll Stronghold. You must note there’s no bank or even a deposit box near that location, so you must go to Snowflake in Weiss. The best part of Basalt rocks is that they don’t deplete when you mine the ore, and they respawn quickly, so you can expect a decent profit of around 566K coins per hour if you mine 700 basalt ores. You must know that Crystal Pickaxe doesn’t work on Basalt, nor do other items like the Prospector Kit, Celestial Ring, or Varrock Armour.

Money Making Mining OSRS FAQ

Since Mining is a popular skill for earning coins, there are questions about it, and we will give you the answers to some of them. Let’s begin!

Are There Other OSRS Mining Money Making F2P Method That Works?

How Much Time Does It Take To Level Up Mining in OSRS?
