OSRS Wyrms Slayer Guide

Wyrms are draconic creatures that reside in the lower level of the Karuulm Slayer Dungeon. Killing them grants you XP, money, along with a variety of droppings. However, to do so, you must have a level 62 slayer.

This guide dives deep into everything you need to know about killing a Wyrm – including the required gear setup, inventory setup, and more. So, let’s begin!

Wyrms Stats

  • Combat Level: 99
  • Max Hit: 13
  • XP/Kill: 133
  • Attack Style: Mage-based and melee-based attacks.
  • Weaknesses: stab and range-based attacks

Wyrm Slayer Gear Setup

When choosing the gear for your encounter with Wyrms, make sure to prioritize your magic defense so that it doesn’t come down to the use of magic prayer early on. As such, having at least the Black D’hide armor equipped comes in particularly handy.

Regarding damage to Wyrms, the two-handed dart weapon – Toxic blowpipe with a high ranged level- is the finest DPS.

On the contrary, if your ranged level is too low or you have access to a rapier or lance in your arsenal, you can resort to melee attacks.

Note that according to your level, you must have either of the following boots equipped for heat protection – namely Granite boots, boots of brimstone, or boots of stone. Else, you’re going to take plenty of damage in the Karuulm Slayer Dungeon. However, if you’ve completed the Elite Kourend & Kebos diary, choose any boots that you want.

Getting to the Karuulm slayer dungeon

Once you have set up your gear and inventory as recommended, it’s time to actually get on the battlefield and come face to face with the Wyrms.

The quickest possible way of doing that is to use whatever fairy ring teleport you picked and go to code CIR. From there, if you have completed some of the tasks of Kourend & Kebos Diary, you’ll be able to teleport directly to the Karuulm slayer dungeon. Otherwise, you can utilize the skills necklace to teleport to the farming guild, located just southwest of the dungeon.

Whichever teleportation option you choose, once there, proceed towards the top of the mountain and drop down the elevator there. Once inside the dungeon, head to the chamber on your left and that’s where you’ll have a face-off with the Wyrms.

Fighting Wyrms – General Tips

As mentioned above, Wyrms are vulnerable to both melee and range-based moves. However, if your ranged stats are up-to-the-mark, always prefer range-based moves; this way, your gear will have a high magic defense.

As for melee-focused strategy, get to attacking as soon as you enter the area surrounded by Wyrms. Having a melee weapon with the ability to stab will do wonders for you.

Remember that you don’t have to worry even if your ranged stats are not that good, you can easily win against Wyrms using melee weapons. Primarily, your mage level, defense level, and the damage you’re dealt with define your odds in the battle.

Talking about a range-based fighting plan, you must know of the safe spots on the battlefield to make your life much easier. These spots are usually right next to the boundaries. When you shoot a Wyrm while standing on one of these spots, that respective Wyrm gets stuck on the nearest corner, causing it to lose HP and eventually die.

Unlike Drakes in Karuulm Slayer Dungeon, Wyrms don’t have any special ability so taking them down is pretty easy.

Wyrm Droppings

Eliminating Wyrm sure comes with a reward! Apart from the Wyrm bones, Wyrms can drop a variety of useful items, including weapons, armors, runes, herbs, seeds, and gems. Here are the most valuable drops of the Wyrms:
